I grew up on the Florida Gulf Coast and began my art career by majoring in Art & Humanities at the University of West Florida in Pensacola. After graduating, I worked as a technical illustrator for many years before marrying my husband Jim. Since we moved around in the first few years, I decided to pursue my artwork and began painting full time.
I like to capture moments in time, especially relationships between people and between people and their pets. I also enjoy painting the beauty of nature and landscapes in a loose impressionistic style. I feel like I've done my job when someone tells me that my artwork makes them smile and feel good. If it's not fun - what's the point!?
In the last couple of years, I have discovered working with fiber and have become a little obsessed! The texture and colors of the different natural fibers keeps drawing me in! I can't seem to pass up a ball of wool. I'll keep y'all posted with whatever develops with this new phase. :-)

ReplyDeleteI love your art, all the different kinds shown on your site. I especially like how you've recently begun to include some 3D items like shells on your felted vessels.
